Congress city Berlin

Hotspot of creativity

Berlin, a place of longing. The capital magically attracts artists, creative people, culture lovers and theatre fans. The city's diverse cultural offerings and colourful hustle and bustle create a very special atmosphere. Opera performances and art exhibitions, theatre productions, concerts and festivals - everything meets here. Around 200 museums, collections and memorials, 400 galleries, three opera houses and eight major symphony orchestras, more than 90 cinemas, around 150 theatres and stages and numerous other cultural institutions provide an inexhaustible choice.

Culinary summer

Of course, the perfect summer also includes a delicious ice cream. The variety of ice cream creations offered in the numerous ice cream cafés is as colourful as Berlin itself. If you fancy ice cream with goat's milk or cucumber, you'll find it at Fräulein Frost. The Eismanufaktur has also made a name for itself and sells unique creations such as cocoa sorbet. If you want a relaxed meal in the green, you have plenty of choice in Berlin. Mauerpark is a great place for a barbecue or picnic. You can also watch street artists or listen to jam sessions. Summer can also be enjoyed in one of the many beer gardens. They have a long tradition in Berlin. At the Schleusenkrug, for example, you can sit comfortably and watch the nearby ships while sipping a cult Berliner Weiße. But the capital also offers beach feeling. Beachmitte is a wonderful place to wind down for the evening, while Ku'damm Beach in Grunewald offers upscale Italian cuisine.

Discover Berlin's green side

There are more than 2,500 parks and gardens in the capital that invite you to relax. The Britzer Garten, with the largest sundial in Europe, and the Gärten der Welt (Gardens of the World), which combine extraordinary garden art from Asia and Europe, are certainly among the most attractive recreational areas. There is also plenty of space for skaters, joggers and walkers at the former Tempelhof Airport. The Tiergarten, in the middle of Berlin, and other sights can be easily explored by bike. A popular bike tour, for example, is the one on the Wall Cycle Path along the former Berliner Wall. Bicycle rental stations can be found all over Berlin.
